Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Mechanic Apprentice and kick-start your career in heavy equipment maintenance and repair! Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians in diagnosing and repairing forklifts, cranes, excavators, and other heavy machinery using schematics and electrical diagnostics tools
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, and brake repairs on various equipment types
- Support fabrication and assembly activities for equipment repairs or modifications using power tools and welding techniques
- Learn to troubleshoot hydraulic systems, transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, and electrical systems on construction and industrial equipment
- Conduct inspections to identify issues related to alignment, HVAC systems, diesel engine diagnostics, and overall mechanical health of machinery
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance logs, and diagnostic findings in compliance with OEM standards
- Participate in heavy lifting, tire service, and other manual tasks necessary for equipment servicing under supervision
Requirements
- Strong interest in heavy equipment mechanics with a desire to learn technical skills in diesel engine repair, electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience working with hand tools, power tools, or automotive repair is preferred
- Ability to follow schematics and technical manuals accurately
- Willingness to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service when interacting with team members or clients
- Prior experience or familiarity with dealership service environments is a plus but not required
- Must be enrolled in or willing to enroll in relevant technical training programs or apprenticeships related to heavy machinery maintenance
